Pandemonium is an underground prison built to house criminals of the most violent type instead of crowding the state penitentiaries. The entire prison is controlled and run by the guards, who are called Centurions. Pandemonium makes its money by running a worldwide gambling business that uses the death row prisoners as modern day gladiators. Two random names are drawn once a month for a live streamed battle to the death in the Coliseum. Prisoners may win the right to live in the Coliseum, but anyone’s name can be drawn once every two months to spin the Wheel- to see if they will suffer the tortures of the Wheel live on the internet, or escape the Wheel untouched.
